The turtle graphics interpretation
can be expanded to allow for exogenous influences. A system
can thus become adaptive to a local environment. On one level
environmental factors can affect the turtle’s state
(e.g. the distance it moves, its rotation, etc.) On another
level, the turtle can pursue different commands depending
on what it encounters in the environment. One example of this
is a turtle responding to a site’s topography so as
to not intersect the ground plane. |
