Can nature’s organic growth processes
as described by Lindenmayer Systems function as generators of architectural design? How can L-Systems be applied to the production of architectural form? Could L-Systems serve additional functions such as, for instance, the creation of organizational logic, the segmentation of space, or the development of a structural system?
The first part of this project explores methods for visualizing L-Systems code and considers which characteristics of a design are intrinsic to the logic of L-Systems. The second
part of the project examines the modularity inherent in
L-Systems and considers methods of environmental interaction.
The L-Systems logic is further expanded to include aspects
of parametric systems.
